Meet The Team Behind Your Care
We’re a small, focused team. You’ll know exactly who you’re working with and why they built this clinic the way they did.
Thomas leads the OptimalTMS team and earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions with extensive clinical experience spanning neurosurgery and cognitive health. His background includes years of hands-on work in neurosurgical care, where he served as a first assist in operative procedures and managed both preoperative and postoperative patient care. This experience has shaped a precise, safety-focused, and deeply attentive approach to patient treatment.
In addition to surgical care, Thomas has significant experience treating patients with concussions, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), dementia, and other forms of cognitive decline. This work has strengthened his understanding of the brain’s complexity and the importance of individualized, evidence-based treatment plans—principles that guide his work in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
His doctoral scholarly work focused on patient education and ensuring that individuals feel informed, supported, and confident in their care. As a result, he prioritizes spending meaningful time with each patient, making sure they fully understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and procedures. He believes that the best outcomes come from a combination of advanced treatment and empowered, well-informed patients.
Outside of his professional work, Thomas values time with his wife and six children. He also enjoys gardening and landscaping, finding it both grounding and rewarding to create and care for growing environments.

Our Clinical Philosophy
Most TMS clinics are built around a device. We built ours around a belief: that understanding your treatment is part of the treatment.
That’s not a slogan. It’s the finding at the center of our lead provider’s doctoral research that patients who are genuinely educated about what’s happening in their brain, why a specific protocol was chosen, and what to expect in the weeks that follow, achieve measurably better outcomes than patients who don’t have that context.
Everything about how we practice follows from that… The depth of our consultations… The way we explain neuroplasticity before we talk about magnets… The reason this website exists the way it does… with real answers, cited research, and honest acknowledgment of what TMS can and can’t do.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to deliver evidence-based, outcomes-driven mental health care through advanced TMS and integrative psychiatric services that restore hope, improve function, and create lasting change. We are committed to combining clinical excellence, scientific rigor, and compassionate care to bring innovative treatments to patients while maintaining the highest standards of safety, ethics, and credibility.
Vision Statement:
Our vision is to become the most trusted leader in modern mental health treatment by redefining how depression, trauma, and treatment-resistant conditions are treated. We aim to bridge innovation and evidence pushing the boundaries of neuroscience and psychiatric care while remaining grounded in proven research, measurable outcomes, and patient-centered healing. We envision a future where accelerated TMS and other advanced therapies are accessible, respected, and recognized as frontline solutions for lasting recovery.
Core Goals & Values:
- Clinical Excellence Through Evidence-Based Care: Deliver the highest standard of treatment by using proven protocols, measurable outcomes, and continuous clinical review to ensure every patient receives safe, effective, and personalized care.
- Responsible Innovation: Lead with innovation by adopting emerging therapies and accelerated treatment models only when supported by strong research, clinical integrity, and real patient outcomes.
- Community Trust & Referral Partnerships: Build lasting relationships with providers, therapists, hospitals, and referral partners by being a reliable, transparent, and collaborative clinical resource in the community.
- Patient Access & Affordability: Expand access to life-changing treatment by creating affordable pathways to care, reducing barriers to entry, and helping patients receive effective treatment faster.
- Outcome-Driven Leadership: Use data, patient results, and continuous improvement to guide decisions, validate treatment success, and strengthen our position as a trusted clinical leader.
Optimal TMS was built from years of watching the gap between what the research showed was possible and what most patients were actually receiving.
Our lead provider’s background begins in neurosurgery. He spent years working as a first assist in operative procedures, managing complex pre- and post-operative care across neurosurgical cases, concussions, and traumatic brain injury. That clinical foundation was precise, technically demanding, and focused on the brain in ways most psychiatric providers aren’t. This shapes how we practice.
Before founding Optimal TMS, he served as clinical director of an established regional brain health clinic, where he built and led the TMS program: developing clinical protocols, training clinical staff, and overseeing treatment for 1,000+ patients across treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, post-concussion syndrome, and traumatic brain injury. That experience at scale across a complex patient population, using accelerated protocols before most clinics had heard of them is the clinical foundation this clinic is built on.
It also clarified something that became the operating principle of Optimal TMS: The patients who got the most out of TMS were the ones who understood what was happening… why the protocol was designed the way it was, what to expect, and how to actively take advantage of the neuroplasticity window treatment created. That insight is the reason this clinic exists the way it does.
